The 2025 IDE Middle School Retreat and Snowlympics is coming up on January 24-25, 2025 with Pastor Miguel Gonzalez-Feliciano from Readlyn, IA presenting on Heroes of Honor, Saints of Shame, and Christian Courage.

Life can be full of trials and challenges in every stage of life. How does God provide for His people to live in an honorable way? Through the narratives of His people, God has given generation after generation a model for how to have Christian courage in the face of adversity for the sake of His kingdom. Going through the life of David, we’ll learn how we can cultivate courage despite our flaws and sins, by turning in repentance and following God. Through our time of study, we’ll see how David, with the help of God, had courage to face the enemies of God when he slayed Goliath, his honorable way of acting towards Saul when he could have killed him, and how David doesn’t succumb to the shame of his sin, but sought after the face of God. Through the example of one man’s life, we can be guided into trusting in a way of honorable living that leads us to trust in the greater King, Jesus, who is our honorable hero, who scorned the shame of the cross, and gives us courage today.
