For Mid-Sized Employers (50 – 99 Workers/Full Time Equivalents)

This News Story targeted to mid-sized employers with 50-99 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) workers as defined by the Affordable Care Act.  Beginning 1/1/2016 they are subject to the “Play or Pay” rule, which is contained in the Affordable Care Act’s Employer Shared Responsibility provisions.  The transitional relief for this rule ends 12/31/2015.

We are reminding employers if they haven’t done so already, they need to change their health plan eligibility rule requirement to “30 or more hours” to avoid potential ACA penalties along with putting in place a procedure that will assist you in tracking worker hours on a monthly basis.  Here is a link to the Declaration of Hours form on our website:    Note, if your CHP hours are currently at >20 or >25, you are already offering health coverage in accordance with this change.
